POKIDOTS—A SUMMARY
Thank you for considering my studio for a story!
I created this page for a more wholesome idea of my work and what I like to highlight.
Here are examples of the main keepsakes that started my business—Custom keepsakes made with outgrown baby clothes.
I’ll start with my best seller which is the fashion keepsake, where the girl illustration is a custom portrait of the recipient, or an imagined adult version of her if she is still a child:
There are several other styles available to choose from. Here are some of them:
3-balloons keepsake made with favorite toddler skirt. She kept wearing it even when it barely fit her!
Sailboat keepsake made with toddler shirt and sweater worn for a special event and photoshoot.
Heart keepsake made with baby onesie that mom couldn’t let go of.
Spruce tree keepsake made with Christmas pajama worn until February! :)
Here are examples of bridal keepsakes from the Bridal and Special Occasion section:
Kelli’s bridal keepsake made with pieces of her wedding dress, and inspired from wedding dress and photos.
This one went all the way to Australia, another bridal keepsake. Also inspired by the actual wedding dress and photos of the bride.
After a little while and after launching the Bridal and Special occasion keepsakes, customers started to order keepsakes that are made with other sentimental items, not only baby clothes:
These are hand-embroidered cotton blouses from the 1940’s! They were worn by 3 generations of women and girls. Grandma wore them as a little girl, and after granddaughter wore them, they were regifted to grandma as this beautiful keepsake.
Recently, I’ve been receiving more requests for memorial keepsakes, specifically honoring moms who have passed. Here are a couple of examples:
This client honored the memory of her mom with a keepsake, 13 years after her death. She used the dress her mom wore at my client’s wedding. The dress was replicated in illustration and the actual dress fabric. You can listen to what the client said here.
I’ll wrap up shortly I promise! Two more things I still want to show you:
The Angel child project, is how I donate keepsakes for parents who have lost a child after birth. After making the first one which was requested from me, I had to start this project because I wanted to encourage parents to have them. So far, I’ve found out that two therapists have separately recommended to their patients that they get keepsakes made, to give them a sense of closure and assist in their grieving and healing journey. It’s a wonderful project that I’m proud of. More about the Angel child project here.
Last but not least, and to broaden my reach with keepsakes to preserve memories with sentimental clothes, I created the DIY keepsakes collection. Customers can now order a DIY keepsake kit and make their own keepsakes at home without having to send me the clothes. It’s a beautifully made product and I periodically add styles to the collection. Here are a couple of examples:
The Converse style, one of the DIY top sellers, made with Lucia’s little flower dress.
The camper is another favorite; this one was made with a newborn hospital blanket, a popular keepsake item.
I hope this gives you a good idea of the Pokidots keepsakes! There are many angles to take; it’s a product that spreads joy and empowers us to preserve our beautiful memories or even challenging times from the past and move forward with joy and confidence.
