Two keepsakes for Madeline Elle.
Madeline Elle’s mom lives in Seattle and she asked if we could meet, because she was undecided about the outfit she would use for her keepsake.
I met her at a nearby cafe where she showed me an adorable denim dress with stars on it, a tiny onesie with a cute puffin pattern, a pair of tiny pink baby pants, and a top with flamingos. She also brought a beautiful little fancy baby dress, and a couple of other random pieces. She loved all the things and she couldn’t pick! She also was hesitating between the three-balloons keepsake and the fashion one.
Louma to the rescue!
After hearing a bit about each piece of clothing, I asked Madeline Elle’s mom, why doesn’t she use her few favorites, and have two keepsakes made, the three-balloons and the fashion? She looked at me with a big smile as though this was a thought she had but she’s glad it came from me.
The only thing I didn’t bring home was the fancy little dress: she said that her daughter hasn’t worn it, but that she wished she had because she loves it. You know my policy! :) I didn’t get this one because it was unworn and devoid of memories and precious moments. Next!
On the first keepsake, I combined 3 pieces that worked perfectly together and I think it turned out so cute. In this photo, Madeline Elle was just a few days old (I think!) and wearing the flamingo onesie and the little ruffle pants I used 🌸 This keepsake is such a nice reminder of those little sweet baby days.
For the fashion keepsake, Madeline Elle’s mom chose the “Gabrielle” girl with hair modifications: to make her curls looser. I used the little star dress and it’s one of my favorite keepsakes now. So soft and beautiful. What do you think?
There was just a little hat and black pants that I haven’t used, and you know what? Madeline Elle’s mom didn’t even care about those anymore. And that’s the hidden purpose of those keepsakes: you have a hard time letting go of a bunch of clothes, you get a keepsake or two made with a couple of pieces, you don’t mind letting go of the rest of the pile now. And now someone else can enjoy your donation. Win-win-win!
